The Maori people of New Zealand use tattooing as a rite of social status. American tattooing during the 70′s discovered primitive Tribal Tattoo by copying simple designs with meaning of Polynesian tattoos from the islands of the South Pacific. After few decades, Westerners began creating tribal designs of their own origins commonly known as neo-tribal.
