I would like some one to please help me traslate my daughters name "aniyah"to Irish-Gaelic. also would like to get someing saying. my beautiful daughter or an angel sent from heaven, or" my heart". thank you in advance for your replies
In the Irish-Gaelic alphabet what would her initals look like "ADS"?
If anyone has any suggestion's as to, creative phrases i could use to help express the love of a mother and child "my daughter" I would love to hear them translated to irish-gaelic.
Aniyah = Áine
(approximate pronunciation "Ah-nya" or "Ainya")
my beautiful daughter = m'iníon álainn
(approximate pronunciation "mineen awling")
an angel sent from heaven = aingeal anuas ó neamh
(approximate pronunciation "angal anoos oh nyav")
my heart = mo chroí
(approximate pronunciation "mukree")
As regards translating names, native Irish speakers would have no difficulty in giving an Irish equivalent for any name if it is already established in the language. Names like "Kurt", for instance, have no equivalent but there would be no hesitation in giving "Áine" for "Aniyah", whatever the dialectical variation in pronunciation.

Names are usually not translated. You could spell it phonetically in Irish "Anía" or use the Irish name "Áine", but that sounds like "anya" in the South and like "enya" in the North. "M'iníon" is "my daughter, "is í Dia a chuir i bhealach í" means "she was put on the way by god" (pronounce:"shee Dee-ah ah Xoo-irr i valaX ee" where the "X" is like the "ch" in Scottish "loch".
