Thinking of getting an aztec style sun on my left shoulder/upper arm. I am a bloke (man) what do you think of my choice of design and location. Anyone got any suggestions or comments???

Any aztec design to me is good – and your position is perfect, you can hid it should the occasion ask for it – but also show it off.
Really think about your design before you go for it. Maybe try a henna one for a couple of weeks. And if you still fancy it when the sun isnt shining then go for it.

Sounds good to me. I like Mayan and Aztec design.
How are your arms? Roundish tattoos look better on shapely arms in my opinion. Just something to think about.

Yea i agree with Simon…. its a big thing so only do it if you 100% and atthe end of the day only you can choose what you want, your the one who has to look at it for the rest of your life!

My suggestion considering you said "thinking off" is wait a year. if you still want it then its the one for you. clearly if you don't still want it, it was a gr8 decision.
However if u can't wait, mabey that indicates it a phrase, and u want it now, which might have a negative impact on you for the rest of your life.

I think it's quite a good idea! But it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, because it's you who has to live with it for the rest of your life!!
I have three tattoos, on my shoulder blade, on my lower back, and just below my neck on my back and I love them all! Everyone told me not to get the one on my neck, but I went for it coz it's my decision and now I love it, and so does everyone else!!
So if you like it go for it!!

To me that sounds like a good location. Somewhere you can see it yourself. I've never understood back and shoulder tattoos because people can't see it for themselves. I saw a guy with one on his elbow the other day which looked good, imo.

Unless you have well toned arms and shoulders I wouldn't get it there. A tattoo on a flabby arm just looks awful and really highlights the flaw. But aside from that, the shoulder/upper arm is a fairly good place. Another cool place is at the base of the neck, though its really painful to get there. If you're not entirely sure about it you could always go for the calf too as that place is becoming really popular lately.
As for the symbol, it sounds pretty good but all that really matters is your own feelings. Just make sure its something that your really want and not just a fleeting impulse. Will you still want it ten, twenty even thirty years from now?

If you need to ask what others think then I don't think you should do it!
Try using an eyeliner pencil (ask a girlfriend/sister/mum for one) and draw it on where you think you would like it.
I did that with all four of mines to decide the best place. Your design sounds really nice so find the best place for it to work with the flow of your body.
