i love tattoos. im addicted. i have four and im building. i really want a quarter sleeve. i wanna get a coy fish too.

i dont know why people are so judgemental against people with tattoos. just because we express ourselves differently doesn't mean we are wrong for doing it.

I love them! I only have 4 but want another, I think they are great, I have three with my daughters name who passed away so it's sort of a comfort for me, I know lots of people who hate them, my mom is one of them but if you hate them just don't get one

They are wonderful. They show where youve been, who you are and what you are doing. I beleive that tattoos are art and your body is your canvas.

Its your body. If you want a tattoo get one, it just may look gross when you are old. (I have 2 myself, they are addicting).

I dislike them depending on location, type of design, and the purpose of the tattoo.

Anything on the lower back is an automatic dislike for me. "Tramp stamps"

I dislike skulls, and crossbones, and hellfire. All that corny Harley Davidson BS.

Also anything on the arms, neck or hands; as for it can hurt you during job interviews.

I like memorial tattoos such as the one my sister has for when my brother was murdered. Just a simple Anchor (he was a Naval Officer) with his year born and year of death.

I havn heard of neone havn probs wit them tho, so im sure its alright. Just make sure you know exactly wat you want so you dont regret it later!

They're only bad for you if you can't take the flack that you may get from being confident enough to change your body to how you feel most comfortable.

i suppose if a person is inclined to be a person who regrets things in life, they would indeed be more inclined to suffer due to getting a tattoo. But those sorts of people really shouldn't be getting tattoos in the first place.

I think tattoos are a wonderful way of showing self confidence, and are a great way to help make a person feel more comfortable in their own skin.

However, there are indeed those who sadly do not understand the true reasons why people get such body modifications, those who call it self mutilation and the like. Sadly, they'll never know the true joy that you can get from being wholly in control of your body, and how it is presented to the world.

And of course those who go out and get the first cheap piece of flash they see. Sadly, both those sorts of people will always exist, and the rest of the modified comminuty can take solace in the fact we're beyond that level of thinking.

Overall, tattoos are certainly a positive in many peoples lives.

I think they look okay when you are young, but when you get old, they look gross, they are wrinkly and it looks nasty. You can also get infections, small ones are okay, but I wouldn't go overboard.

I don't think tattoos are bad for you I just think people make them bad for you with all the negativity they associate with them. To me they are nothing but an expression of who you are as an individual. I don' think they cause long term damage because I see alot of older people who have them who are in perfect health and have great skin so I don't know what other kind of effects they could possibly have. I love my tattoos and I plan on getting more. Like I said they symbolize who I am and things that I am interested in. In my opinion people who don't like them… Don't like them. I don't criticize people who get there noses pierced even tho I wouldn't, same scenario. Tat on!!

I have tattoos and I got them for myself so everyone else's opinions do not matter to me concerning them. I feel for myself, personally, I prefer to have them located so they can be hidden if I so choose. Placement is everything!

i don't think that they are bad for you but i do make sure that i cover mine with sunscreen, and i moisturise them regularly.

I've got one on my wrist which is a bracelet style, one on my lower back which is a large sun and a small symbol on my right shoulder blade.

the only bad thing about tattoo's in my opinion is they are bloody addictive!

I have one huge tattoo on the middle-top of my back. It's my kids name and I have no regets about it. I plan on getting some more actually. It's hurts alittle, but I'm down for it… i really don't think it will have any affects later on the line, but I'm curious to know too if it will….

i have one on each leg, my left shoulder, two on my chest and just got my lower back done. All different and all different artists. Ive gotten them over the past ten years and am going for two more. I LOVE all them b/c they all have some eaning for me.

Ive never had trouble nor known anyone who has. You have to pick a clean, well known establishment. Other than that I dont think they have risks.

i hate tattoos. no offense…but not on me…
i dont have any. some little ones are okay, but i HATE The sleeves and ones that go all around your body. when you're 80 you'll regret those sleeves b/c the color wears out and becomes gross. the skin stretches out and so the tattoo wont look like its supposed to. trust me b/c my friends mom is a gyocologist and has to remove tattoos every day (especially on old people) cuz they regret getting them. get small ones in places ppl dont look, like lower back, ankle, shoulder, etc. my cousin has 2, one on her shoulder and one on her lower back. you can only see them when she wears a bikini. one is an apple w/ a butterfly on it w/ a catterpiller and the other is a star thing. they are cool. i guess it depends on the tattoo.

I've got 3 myself, and itching to get the 4th after I have my son! There are some tattoos that I would personally never get, such as a skull or something like that, but it's really up to the individual. I wouldn't go as far as saying they're bad for you, you just need to make sure you take the proper precautions when you first get them, making sure it doesn't get infected and the like. I've never heard of them causing long term damage. I know that whatever you get tattooed now will not be what it looks like in 20 years from now, but if you're willing to accept that, then go for it! Mine are all on my back, so if I don't want to look at them when I'm 80, I don't have to.

I wouldn't say they are bad for you; unless you have one done that doesn't turn out right or you decide that you don't like it. Me personally I love them or sadistic as this may sound, I love the feeling of getting one done. I've got five at the moment, soon to be six. They are as follows:

    1) Blue rose on my shoulder
    2) Chinese symbol of friendship on my ankle
    3) A name on my hip at the back ( top of my right bum cheek)
    4) My daughters name in chinese writing going down my back
    5) A tribal leaf on the left hand side of my ribcage.

There is a reason behind each one, but i'm not going into all that.

Personally I like tattoos, I don't find anything wrong with them. Its just a sad fact that there are people who equate those with them as bad people instead of getting to know the person. But then again its that persons fault for being so superficial in the first place, they are the ones with the problem not us with tattoos.
As for causing damage in the long term I doubt nowadays with the stricter controls on hygiene.

I like tattoos I don't think people should be judged about them. It's rude let them be their own person. I have one and it's in a place no one can see it. No one really knows about it though.
